{GETAWAY}

Home from Getaway.  Sad it all went by so fast but happy to see the family.  Thank you Peg, Wendy, Kasey, Tracy, Lana, Stacy, Bonnie, Kim and Kelly for the good time.  You girls rock!!!!!  I got plenty of "exercise"!  Some of my favorite stuff: 

What do you mean you don't have EZ Pass!  Large curd cottage cheese!  We got a piper down!  A huge thicket of pubes!  Morman Wendy who doesn't want to hang out with Kim!  Is this BBQ supposed to be black!  C U at ic!  Bonnies driving (it wasn't that bad, really)!  Im getting exercise!  Topics not to be discussed at the next Getaway - hyperbaric chambers, lol!  Good times girls, good times.  Looking forward to next year!

Finally!!!!!  Sun and fun in the Outer Banks.  Tomorrow we head to Nags Head for a long girlz weekend.... From last year....

I have been so bad about updating for awhile now.  Its been cloudy, raining and cold this entire week, blah, a week of gray days.  The leaves are changing and falling off the trees like huge raindrops.  Had to turn on the heat and wear socks.   Time to put away the flipflops, goodbye summer, hello fall.

{LATEST AND GREATEST}

Almost a month since I last posted, bad me.  Been busy working on my digital stuff.  Here are my latest and greatest.  These are listed on my http://darvahlous.etsy.com/ Esty site.  Back to work.

{UNIVERSAL STUDIOS}

Yesterday was a trip to Universal Studios.  Another hot, humid, sweaty, sticky fun filled Florida day.  The park wasn't nearly as crowded as Disney.  No waiting for hours in line to get on the rides, except the new roller coaster, which looked great but not two hours in line great.  We got on all the other rides.  I think The Simpsons Ride was my favorite.  Got off the Jaws ride right before a huge thunderstorm broke loose.  It cooled things off.  I am so amusement parked out, my feet hurt and I am so happy we took today off to rest up for our next adventure.  Tomorrow the guys are going deep sea fishing and we girls are heading off to St. Augustine to shop and sight see.  More later.

{THE MAGIC OF THE MOUSE}

Guess where we were today?  Yep, the Magic Kingdom.  Hot, humid, sweaty, crowded but sooooooo fun.  Too wiped out to write anymore right now.  Tomorrow we are off to Universal Studios.  More later..... 

{YES DRILL SARGEANT}

Home from a week in St. Louis.  The kids and I trekked to my sisters, thanks Ish, Lindsey and Dalton for having us, for Mikes graduation from basic training.  We drove out to Fort Leonard Wood and met up with Mike, who is looking slim and trim and his mom for family day.  Fort Leonard Wood was not at all what I had expected, large and new, much unlike most bases I have visited.  The graduation was short and simple.  Mike being the tallest graduate was last and seated in the back so I didn't get too many good photos, but it was such a proud mother-in-law moment!  We visited the Military Police museum afterwards, a great little museum on the base with some nice gift shops.  Drove back to my sisters later in the day and cooked dinner out on grill.  I don't think Mike knew what to do with all his freedom, lol, after months of a strict regiment I'm sure it will be an adjustment.  Congrats Pvt. Stacy, we love you and are so very proud of accomplishment!

Hung out at my sisters for another few days and did some antique shopping.  Went to a huge antiques mall, it went on forever and ever.  We were pooped by the time we saw it all.  Got a few treasures, a couple of gorgeous teacups, some porcelain shoes and coolest pair of cat eye glasses, the big score!  Bifocals at that, I love them and look so hot wearing them.

Back to the real world now, have lots of work to do before we go to Florida next week.

{MORE COLLAGE SHEETS}

I have just been so bad about the blogging this month.  I have been foraging the internet looking for cool stuff.  I can get lost for hours and hours looking for just the right thing.  Do I find it, oh yeah, can you write poetry in the dust in the house, oh yeah.  I have found a great collection of stuff and the house, well a good layer of dust never hurt anybody.  So I have my next round of collage sheets ready to go.  This week its been all about the corsets, why corsets, who knows why the weirdest things appeal to me.  The wasp waist, the S curve, the tightlacing, its just fun.  I have these collage sheets listed on my Etsy right now and they will be on Darvahlous tomorrow, too tired to tonight.

{ME, MARIE and PHOTOSHOP}

Long time, no blog.  I have been so busy, busy, busy.  Let me sum up.  Last week was our 20th anniversary, can you believe it, 20 years.  Philip spoiled me like always, he's so much more romantic than me.  He got me some lovely gifts and we had lunch at the Olive Garden.  He is a wonderful man and it was a lovely day.  Thanks and Im looking forward to the next 20 years.

Been completely focused on making some digital stuff.  Found all these really cool old fashion plates from some old old fashion magazines.  Whatever the Marie Antoinette  era was, late Rococo, Neoclassical?  Whatever it was I love it.   The plates while very detailed were in need of a color boost and while it was so much work - I loved it and love the way they turned out.  Have a whole bunch of ideas running around in my head as to what I want to with them.  So happy to be playing with paper stuff again.  Have these four sets listed on my Etsy and Darvahlous sites. 

Attention Marie lovers, I am going to be posting some of the fashion plates here on my blog.  Its going to take some time, I have lots, a few at time.  Look in the Marie gallery in the side bar and take which ever ones you like.  I love when people share their finds so I'm sharing mine.
